DIGITAL CAMERAS
Digital camera is a tool to create images of an objects for the next refracted through the lens to the CCD sensor (there is also using CMOS) and the results recorded in digital format to store digital media.
Because the results are stored in the digital image of this record must be processed using digital processing is also a kind of computer or print machine that can read digital media files.
The ease of digital cameras is the image result can be known quickly and instantly, easy to move(transfer), and editing the color, sharpness, brightness and size that can be done with a relatively easier than the manual camera.
Digital Camera Components
1. Camera sensor
camera sensor is also known as a CCD (charged Coupled Device) and CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor), which consists more millions of pixels.
This sensor form like a chip that is located right behind the lens. The more pixels are captured, more detail the picture resulted.
2. LCD Screen
LCD screen (LCD display) is a small screen on digital cameras that are useful to see what shooted by the CCD sensor. Results are shown on the LCD screen more accurate than the results estimated in the conventional camera is often different.
LCD screen can also help to see the results instantly after the photo image has taken, it is easier to correct the image directly to get the best results.
3. Media storage
One of the components that are very influential media. This can be a compact flash, memory stick, etc. generally, the media has a storage capacity to store a large number of images in accordance with the capacity of the memory.
Capacity on each image media capacity is also determined with a resolution of each image produced. The higher-resolution CCD, the larger the size of space to store files that are needed in the media.
Kinds of Digital Cameras
1. Digital Pocket Camera
digital pocket camera is an automatic camera that use take format of digital images with the size of a small and lightweight so easy to be carried.
Generally digital pocket camera have the same character as the pocket camera (using film media). As a pocket camera, this camera has been equipped with various facilities such as the ability to handle the lighting and focus on the weak (Close up).
2. Digital Single Lens Reflect Camera
A digital single lens reflex camera includes a reflector located in a photographic light path to reflect object-carrying light transmitted through a photographic optical system toward a finder optical system. An image pickup device is located at the imaging plane of the photographic optical system. The object-carrying light in the photographic light path is reflected by the reflector in a direction substantially away from an eyepiece optical system of the finder optical system. A reflection light path is formed in the vicinity of the photographic optical system and is provided with a plurality of reflection surfaces to make the light reflected by the reflector in the photographic light path incident on the eyepiece optical system. Furthermore, a relay optical system is located in the reflection light path to relay an image formed on a primary imaging plane, which is optically equivalent to an image pickup surface of the image pickup device, to the eyepiece optical system.
Clacification
Digital cameras can clacificate into:
1. video camera
2. digital still camera
3. webcam
Conectivity
Most digital camera conected to computer viaUSB, although there are some from it use firewire
Media storage
Digital camera store files by using memory card. until now, there are 43 types of memory card, the most famous are usually knows with CF (compact flash) and also SD (secure digital card) which is a new generation of more MMC (Multi Media Card).
Files can be stored in various types, can be JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.. Usually the type of image that is saved in a digital camera is calculated based on the number of pixels.
